BASIC LEVEL

Try your first experience

Have you always thought of trying but thoughts on: … equipment, with whom I go, how do I, have they always blocked you? Here is the best way to try

  • Period: January – February
  • Meeting point: Affi motorway exit car park

  • Activity place: The most beautiful places in the Alps, but with a bit of luck even a few kilometers from home

  • Meeting time: 6.00 am

  • Activity duration: One full day

  • Number of participants: 1-6 per guide

  • Minimum age: 16 years old

  • What we will do: The day is structured as a trial lesson in which to experiment, understand, try and repeat many times to learn the best. We will go where the conditions allow and where we can safely sit at the base of an ice wall.
  • Price: € 100,00 per person

    The cost includes the rental of safety equipment and all the necessary equipment:

    • Ice axes and crampons
    • Headband
    • Harness, ropes, and carabiners
    • Accident Insurance, recovery and rescue participants included

    Extra: Lunch – travel expenses

Ice climbing course

  • Period: January – February

  • Meeting time: 6.00 am

  • Activity duration: 4 full days

  • Number of participants: 4-6 per guide

  • Minimum age: 16 years old

  • What we will do: We will provide the basic elements of safety and climbing technique on ice falls, basic knotology, fundamental progression on supported terrain, use of ice nails, ascent test from first ascents, secured by a rope from the top, ground stops and abseiling test.
  • Price: € 350,00 per person

    The cost includes the rental of safety equipment and all the necessary equipment:

    • Ice axes and crampons
    • Headband
    • Harness, ropes, and carabiners
    • Accident Insurance, recovery and rescue participants included

Important information

  • Equipment needed: winter jacket, winter trousers, gloves (winter and waterproof), wool cap, warm socks, hiking boots. Bring a backpack to store your equipment and jacket if it gets hot while walking.

  • The activity of climbing on ice requires a considerable expenditure of energy, so it is necessary to bring supplies of food and drinks, preferably thermos of hot tea.

  • All the technical equipment (ice ax, crampons, helmet, harness) to tackle the first icefall is made available by Xadventure and is included in the price. However, if you already have your personal material, bring it to try it together with the Alpine Guide.
